Mena Alexandra Suvari, born on 13 February 1979, in America is an actor as well as a fashion designer and model. After beginning her career as a model she soon began acting in guest roles on 1990's programs on television like Boy Meets World and High Incident. In 1997 she debuted as a film actress in Nowhere. Her performances in American Beauty - for which she was nominated to receive the BAFTA Award - and American Pie that earned much attention and recognition, she was able to move into larger roles. She has appeared with the co-star of American Pie Jason Biggs in Loser (2000) before starring as the main character in Sugar & Spice (2001). She also was a part in Spun the drama that was made by an independent studio and in 2004's thriller Trauma. She also appeared in the drama series on HBO Six Feet Under in 2004 she was nominated as an Best Cast of the 2005 Screen Actors Guild Awards. In 2008 she was cast in several films such as Day of the Dead The Mysteries of Pittsburgh and the adaptation film to The Garden of Eden. Suvari has been featured in fashion-related blogs as well as in magazines, such Vogue as well as Lancome Paris Adaptive print ads. Suvari is a strong supporter and advocate for the African Medical and Research Foundation, a prestigious charity that offers assistance to the African continent.
